RTA to Host Public Hearings: August 4-14
RTA TO HOST PUBLIC HEARINGS - AUGUST 4-14
Dear Partner For Transit,
The RTA is embarking on an unprecedented outreach effort to spread the word and generate strong attendance at our upcoming public hearings (August 4-14th). We are serious about public input and seek your help in making it happen.
The hearings will cover: 1) progress to implement new transit legislation and RTA governance reforms 2) RTA's 2009 budget outlook 3) Strategic Plan update on how transit projects will be assessed and prioritized and 4) status of capital investment needs to fund transit projects.
We would GREATLY APPRECIATE it if you would inform your members, affiliates and employees about the hearings. You can help spread the word by:
* e-mail blasts to your contacts
* a link on your website to www.movingbeyondcongestion.org
* a mention in your organization's newsletter
* disseminating the attached public hearings schedule
We have scheduled the hearings earlier this year to afford the public the best opportunity for meaningful input.
RTA Budget Hearings Schedule
The RTA is seeking public input regarding the 2009 budget and summarizing the new transit legislation and RTA governance reforms.
